This is me — the person writing everything here.
Studying since 18
I’ve been fascinated by health and nutrition for as long as I can remember. It started in earnest at 18, when I worked as a personal trainer, studied exercise science in college and read everything I could get my hands on — books, journals, whatever I could find. I loved watching people do more than they thought their bodies were capable of, and I loved trying to understand why the things that worked actually worked.
That curiosity never went away. It’s what this blog is: me, still reading the research, still trying to separate what’s true from what’s just repeated a lot — and writing it down in plain language for anyone who finds it useful.
Why plant-based
The more I learned, the more the evidence pointed the same direction: a plant-forward way of eating is one of the most reliable things a person can do for their long-term health. Not a magic bullet, not a personality — just a genuinely good foundation. So that’s the lens here. I write about the food, the science behind it, and the habits that make it actually stick in a normal, busy life. I try hard not to overstate things, because the truth is interesting enough without the hype.
What’s coming next

Here’s where things get personal. I’m setting out to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but always fell short: train for an iron distance triathlon. I’m not a lifelong athlete. I’m a regular person, a software developer, who’s going to put the science to the test, on myself.
I’m going to document all of it here — the training, the plant-based fueling, the doubts, the setbacks, and whether the science I’ve been writing about for years actually holds up when I put it on my own body. If you want to follow along, the best way is to keep an eye on the blog.
